OpenSea email sparks Twitter debate

According to OpenSea, some of its users who call on inactive lists have lost NFT and money

Twitter users have responded negatively to how OpenSea emails are sent to users who still have inactive entries in their account. In the email, OpenSea explained that the old NFT entry is still viable and cannot be canceled on behalf of the user, so the users have to cancel it. They argued that this would “prevent items from being sold at inactive list prices” by reducing the price of Ethereum (ETH).

According to Dingalings, a NFT collector and other users, this warning had the opposite effect. Dingalings tweeted a thread asking the user to “forward the NFT to another address first and then cancel it before canceling the list of original addresses”. He also quoted another user named swolfchan.eth who claimed to have lost at least 15 ETH.

Some users like roundcatcrypto have commented on swolfchan.eth tweet, saying that “Don’t play with the company because you were trying to save a few dollars”. Alex Attalah, co-founder of OpenSea, replied to a thread at swolfchan.eth, tweeting that “the team is working on this and is currently working on it.” Swolfchan.eth followed and asked if I could expect a refund, but received no response yet.
