Elon Musk takes a dig at crypto scammer on Twitter

Elon Musk, CEO of EV giant Tesla, once again lamented the proliferation of cryptocurrency spam on Twitter.

The billionaire clearly reflected through his tweet that the social media behemoth has been attempting to resolve the problem for quite some time. For a long time, Musk has been battling cryptocurrency scammers.  In 2018, before Musk became a prominent name in the crypto world, he took up the issue of Ethereum spambots. Musk took a dig on scammers about Dogecoin in October on twitter. Scammers usually promise to treble the amount of money entrusted to them, but the billionaire turned the tables on them by proposing a considerably less lucrative deal.

In July 2020, Bitcoin scammers targeted Musk, Bill Gates, Kim Kardashian, and other prominent figures, resulting in the largest Twitter hack to date. Last year, bitcoin scammers imitating Musk made roughly $2 million, according to data supplied by the Federal Trade Commission.

Twitter isn’t the only social media channel where cryptocurrency scammers operate. They can slo be found on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Hackers target popular YouTube channels in order to produce fake Bitcoin giveaway live streams with footage of the billionaire.
