For quite some time, the team behind Brave, the privacy and crypto-friendly web browser, has been working on the browser’s wallet functionality. The Brave Wallet is now available on both desktop and mobile devices. Brave Wallet is integrated into the browser and does not require the installation of a browser plug-in, unlike other wallets like Metamask and Coinbase Wallet.
According to Brave, having a built-in browser does not slow down the performance of the browser, as plug-in wallets may. To commemorate the event, Brave is launching the Brave Swap-stakes crypto sweepstakes, a six-day contest that begins today, Tuesday, March 8th. Brave will distribute fungible tokens as well as NFTs, culminating in the distribution of a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT valued around 80 ether (ETH).
The contest will run from 12:01 a.m. PST on Tuesday, March 8, to 11:59 p.m. PST on Monday, March 14, 2022. Fresh prizes will be awarded every day. To be eligible for a particular day’s rewards, users must have an active Brave Wallet address and utilise the Brave Trade functionality in that wallet to perform at least one crypto swap on that day.
Users must have a Brave Wallet address that is active at some point throughout the contest and use the Brave Exchange functionality in that wallet to perform at least one crypto swap during the contest active dates to be eligible for the grand prizes.
Each winner will be chosen at random based on their wallet address; users will know if they have won if they discover a freshly minted “golden ticket” NFT placed into their wallet. This ticket serves as evidence of winning and may be redeemed for the actual prize. Winners will be required to connect with Brave through email at a @brave.com address while using a specified codeword. Brave will deposit rewards in the same wallet from where winners obtained the golden ticket.
Winners will never be required to provide their private key or other wallet information, as stated in the news release.
