Hayden Adams, the founder of Uniswap, alleged in a tweet on Jan. 23 that JPMorgan Chase has stopped his bank accounts without warning or explanation. Hayden Adams also disclosed that a number of other people and businesses have been targeted in the same way. Many people responded to Hayden’s complaint, claiming that they too were facing the same issues and their bank accounts cancelled the transactions, which were related to cryptocurrency.
Chase customer service responded to the tweet as well, requesting that the Uniswap founder utilise their support message system to resolve his “worse than ideal experience” with the bank.
Matt West, a Democratic congressional candidate, said:
“Absolutely insane. This is part of why we need a clear regulatory framework in the US re: crypto and banks. “
Last week, the CEO of JPMorgan’s digital asset arm claimed that crypto is “here to stay,” although that may not be the case for some of the bank’s clients.
