In the continuous fight against Russian invaders, Ukrainian farmers have become legendary. Images of them hauling captured Russian tanks behind tractors have gone viral all across the world, and there’s no doubt that the scene will go down in history as a watershed moment. Local farmers came up with another way to parody the Russian army while raising donations to rehabilitate Ukraine while occupying troops continue to ruthlessly shell their motherland. Ukrainian farmers have opted to sell the “used” Russian tanks on OpenSea to international bidders.
On the world’s largest NFT marketplace, one Ukrainian farmer offers you the chance to “experience owning your own Russian tank!”. In his collection, he currently has three Russian tanks for sale, each with a starting price of 250 ETH (about $700K USD). The fact that the tanks are for sale on the NFT marketplace does not guarantee that the buyers will receive them in their intended state. In actuality, it’s the polar opposite.
All funds raised from the sale of the war trophies, according to the farmer turned NFT arms dealer, will go toward restoring Ukraine’s agriculture, where a large amount of expensive farming equipment has been destroyed and will be desperately needed to help supply the country’s citizens with homegrown crops once the war is over.
