Trans-teen earns whopping $50 Million from NFTs Artwork

Victor Langlois, a 19-year-old transgender artist, has earned $50 million from his NFTs artwork in almost the last one year. The transgender artist rose to fame in the previous year when his NFTs and physical artwork were auctioned off for $2.16 million at Christie’s auction in New York. The name of the art collection was “Hello, I’m Victor (FEWOCiOUS), and This Is My Life.” It is an artwork about Langlois’ traumatic upbringing and gender transition and was shown in five digital and real artworks. The collection was a coming-out narrative as well as a coronation—a crowning triumph for a young artist who struggled his way to where he is now.

From $2.16 million to $20 million NFTs artwork

In the crypto world, Langlois is also known as FEWOCiOUS. The trans artist has been enjoying greater success and purchases of his digital artwork after becoming recognized in the realm of NFT art since his first sale and earning $2.16 million at Christie’s auction in New York. He sold his $20 million artwork in just 24 hours this April. According to information, the sale transaction was the third-largest selling of NFTs in the Nifty Gateway marketplace’s history at that time.

At that time Langlois while sharing his experiences of life and artwork creation stated that it was very difficult for him to process the artwork. He was planning to put his earnings on the development of more digital artwork. He further stated that his dream was to sketch, not to relax.

“Hello, I’m Victor (FEWOCiOUS), and This Is My Life” chronicled his life as a trans kid from 14 to 18 years old when he moved from an abusive environment to his grandparents in Las Vegas when he was twelve. Unfortunately, it is another reality that he described living with his grandparents as equally tumultuous.

In June 2021 during an interview, he said about his shifting to his grandparents, “I thought I’d be secure, but they were just as mean.”

Trans teens struggle in life for paintings

Furthermore, Langlois informed Christie that he was terrified to emerge as a transgender person at the time and that his grandmother Latina used to scold him anytime he was caught involved with the artwork. He further informed the followings:

“I think she was struggling so hard that she simply needed security. She was surprised to learn that I wanted to study painting. Become a lawyer. That I understand. But it stung when she said things like, Your art is ugly, which is why you can’t do it.”

Langlois allegedly stated on the crypto website Decrypt that he began sketching art on an iPad since he was not permitted to use paint and his 90% of the artwork is digital.

Nothing could deter him from following his ambitions. He currently has made around $50 million since his Christie’s sale.

Future plan for Metaverse

As per information, Langlois is now working on FewoWorld, a digital universe or metaverse-style environment. More information regarding the artist’s metaverse-like realm FewoWorld, which comprises miniature NFT characters named Fewos, will be disclosed by the artist. According to Langlois, each of his paint NFT will be connected with a specific number of Paints that comprise FewoWorld.
