Sandbox launches its season 2, reaches 2M users within few hours

The Sandbox’s Alpha Season 1 premiered in late 2021 and immediately drew a lot of attention. Since then, it has risen to become the world’s second most searched NFT, has been named one of the most important projects to watch in 2022, and has played a key role in transforming virtual real estate into one of the most traded NFTs.

The Sandbox team debuted its second Alpha Season today. Season 2 of Alpha improves 18 existing experiences and introduces 12 new ones, as well as a new transit hub. Season 2 also features substantial system improvements, such as the ability to access the game from both a Mac and a PC. To promote Season 2, The Sandbox will be free to join for the whole month of March, and all players will be able to enjoy all the activities, including Snoopverse, without the requirement for a pass.

Season 2 Alpha Passes and up to $1000 SAND in incentives will be available to players as well. Many people flocked to The Sandbox metaverse to take advantage of the Season 2 promos. Within hours of the end of Season 2, the total number of users had surpassed 2 million, and it appears that this number will continue to rise throughout March. 

SAND, the Sandbox’s native currency, has also reacted to the increased attention. It entered a bearish trend shortly after introduction, surpassing the #3.1 threshold to trade around $3.08.
