Opera, a web browser company, has announced support for the cryptocurrency environment’s eight major blockchains. Now, Opera’s 380 million users will soon be able to use its browser to visit eight different blockchains.
Integration of Blockchains with Opera browser
Bitcoin, Celo, Nervos, IXO, StarkEx, Polygon, Ronin, and Solana are among the blockchains that have been chosen for the project. Opera users may also have access to the Polygon and Solana dApp platforms, as well as Layer 2 DeFi with StarkWare-powered DiversiFi. The new development gives Opera users free access to layer 1 protocols like Ethereum’s security and decentralisation features.
DApps from Polygon are now accessible from Crypto Browser Project on PC and Android systems, while other blockchains will be available in the coming months. The integration of Solana, Polygon, and other key blockchains, will connect an average web user directly with these eight blockchain technologies through the Opera mobile browser.
Opera released a beta version of the Crypto Browser Project for mobile and desktop computers in January 2021.
According to a blog post of Opera:
“……The integration of many blockchains, particularly Layer 2s, is a critical step in Opera’s goal of remaining chain agnostic while seamlessly enrolling millions of users in Web3 in an environmentally conscious manner…..”
In 2018, Opera announced its entry into the cryptocurrency market and began forming relationships with key blockchains. In 2018, the browser was the first to be connected with a crypto wallet and to support Web3.
