MetaMask wallet 4.3.1 release allows buying crypto using Apple Pay

MetaMask, a crypto wallet, launched an updated mobile version 4.3.1 on March 29 and the most notable feature in the update is the incorporation of Apple Pay.  Wyre, a third-party service that takes crypto payments, interacts with Apple Pay to conduct a crypto transaction. Another feature added is the integration of debit and credit card transactions which will enable Metamask users to no longer rely on ETH transfers to finance their crypto purchases. Instead, a user may deposit up to USD 400 each day into an Apple Pay wallet using the Wyre API and a Visa or Mastercard.

MetaMask now allows users to buy cryptocurrencies using personal credit or debit cards utilising the Transak payment system. Those who wish to utilise any of these payment platforms have to go through the KYC process.

Although the firm maintains that the gas prices are not a cost, utilising MetaMask on layer-1 does cost money. MetaMask also charges a transaction fee of 0.875 percent. As a result, this release includes support for gasless operations, in which private blockchains or protocols pay for gas charges on behalf of the user.

According to information, MetaMask, one of the most popular cryptocurrency wallets, just surpassed 30 million active monthly users. Furthermore, the Ethereum solutions business behind the Metamask wallet, ConsenSys, just completed a USD 450 million fundraising round.
