On Jan. 23, hackers targeted a number of notable crypto YouTuber accounts. Unauthorized videos with text asking followers to transfer cash to the hacker’s wallet were posted on the accounts.

‘BitBoy Crypto,’ ‘Altcoin Buzz,’ ‘Box Mining,’ ‘Floyd Mayweather,’ ‘Ivan on Tech, and ‘The Moon, among others, are believed to have been targeted by the attack.

At the time of writing, the Binance Smart Chain wallet address indicated in the bogus videos had only 9 BNB transactions with a total value of roughly $850.

Michael Gu alerted that a video from his YouTube channel Boxmining was shared without his consent. He said, “Fortunately, we noticed it within two minutes of the video becoming live and were able to delete it.” “By that point, my community had already expressed their opinions and criticisms.”

He went on to say that he had conducted an internal search and discovered no viruses or bugs that could have given the hackers access to his account. “It appears that YouTube is to blame,” he stated.
