GitHub, a major developer platform, is reportedly said to have blocked more than a dozen accounts of Russian developers linked with organisations sanctioned by the US government.
Some of Russia’s major banks, including Sberbank and Alfa-Bank, are among the sanctioned accounts, as are individual developers with connections to the sanctioned firms. On the other hand, many individual accounts with no connections or ties to sanctioned firms were also blocked in the process.
Sergey Bobrov, a researcher who supposedly has no present ties to any such organisation, stated on April 15 that his account had been banned and then restored.
He tweeted:

GitHub is a popular software development platform that allows users to store, monitor, and collaborate on software projects. It allows developers to submit their own code files and work on open-source projects with other developers. Because it is open-source, it has become an important part of the crypto ecosystem.
According to early reports, the majority of the businesses and developers facing suspension are private Russian banks, with no crypto company or developer affected.
