The number of crypto queens, or female investors, has increased faster than their male peers, as per BTC Markets (BTCM) research. According to it, the cryptocurrency market is maturing and is no longer dominated by speculation. BTCM is a cryptocurrency exchange in Australia.
BTCM Study Report 2021 and female crypto investors
The BTCM Investor Study Report 2021 is an in-depth examination of data from the BTCM exchange for the year 2021, segmented by demographics (age, gender, investor type) to evaluate and analyse cryptocurrency investing behaviours among its 325,000 consumers anonymously.
According to the BTCM report, in 2021, female crypto investors climbed by 126 percent, while male crypto investors increased only by 83 percent. The report also highlights that there was an increase of 79 percent rise in new clients for BTCM in 2021. The rise came from Australia’s “mature wealth accumulators”, which were in the age group of 45 to 59 years.
According to BTC Markets CEO Caroline Bowler:
“…The trend is positive because of this age group’s conservative risk appetite…They have a multitude of expertise in traditional investment markets, and their choice to participate in crypto is based on strategic study and intelligence rather than fear of missing out (FOMO)…”
BTC Markets also stated that Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) remained the most transacted tokens on the BTCM platform in 2021, while Tether (USDT) entered the top five traded cryptocurrencies. The average value of transactions performed on the platform climbed by 48 percent, while daily orders increased by 42 percent. According to BTC Markets, the considerable rise is the result of an increasing number of investors understanding the value of cryptocurrencies.
