Decentralized applications

Decentralized apps (dApps) are computer applications or programmes that live and execute on a blockchain or peer-to-peer (P2P) network of computers rather than a single computer. “Peers” are networks that communicate with one another through the Internet. Files can be exchanged directly across network systems without the requirement for a host computer. Blockchain is a mechanism for storing data in a form that makes it impossible to edit, alter, or defraud the system. DApps (commonly read “dapps”) exist outside of the scope and control of a central body. DApps may be created for a number of reasons, including gaming, financial, and social networking.

The Ethereum platform is used to generate and construct these decentralised apps. Smart contracts are used for the logic of Ethereum dApps. They are implemented on the Ethereum network and store data on the platform’s blockchain.

Advantages:

  • Increases user privacy.
  • Censorship is not allowed.
  • The platform’s adaptability allows for the development of dApps.
