David Schwartz responds to Associated Press Criticism of Twitter acquisition

David Schwartz, Ripple’s chief technical officer, who has been critical of Elon Musk’s intention to buy Twitter, has come out in support of the eccentric billionaire this time after Musk was criticised in an Associated Press (AP) article on the Twitter acquisition.

According to the authors of an Associated Press article, Elon Musk, although saying that he wants to acquire Twitter to defend free speech.

The same article states, Musk attacked Tesla co-founder and former CEO Martin Eberhard on Twitter for claiming Musk was “craving attention and trying to claim credit as a visionary.”

Elon later called him a “liar” in one of his tweets. He referred to the SEC as the “Shortseller Enrichment Commission,” and he mentioned other similar cases.

Despite previously criticising Musk on the future Twitter acquisition, the Ripple CTO sided with the billionaire this time, claiming that this is not a legitimate criticism of Elon Musk, despite the fact that there are plenty of legitimate ones.

Schwartz tweeted that attacking individuals who disagree with you verbally does not contradict fighting for free speech. He pointed out that attacking one’s opponents constitutes a belief in free speech, which is precisely what needs to be protected here.
