Bored Ape avatars gain popularity in Hollywood

WME expands its reach into non-fungible tokens with the signing of Escapeplan, a producer and DJ combo composed of two apes from the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Big Night Talent, headed by Tim Bonito, produced the Escapeplan NFTs.

Escapeplan is the first DJ/producer partnership comprising two Bored Ape avatars. The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10,000 Bored Ape NFTs, with owners of those particular Bored Apes receiving member benefits such as access to additional tokens and items.

Bored Ape NFTs have been acquired by singers and entertainers such as Justin Bieber, Steve Aoki, Kygo, Jimmy Fallon, Post Malone, Eminem, Serena Williams, Marshmello, and The Chainsmokers, among others, as the NFT trend extends throughout Hollywood. In return for the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT #378, the artist Dillon Francis recently had a residence with Big Night Talent, which manages the Escapeplan duo.

Escapeplan, a DJ duo, has released their first track, “Jungle” featuring rapper Rich the Kid.

With WME, the two NFT avatars — known as ETHan and zeETH, abbreviations for Ethereum — will collaborate with the agency on bookings, endorsements, and other initiatives using their IP.
