The sale is the most costly NFT from the 10,000-strong Azuki collection as of the time of writing this report. Chiru Labs’ project, which began in January 2022, is said to be based on the popular Japanese anime and manga art style.
Despite the steep 1 ETH mint price, the collection sold out in three minutes and garnered more than $29 million on the first day. Azuki cemented its position as the eighth most traded NFT of all time after about $300 million in transaction volume less than a month later.
