Freedom Squares is a brand new Ethereum NFT collection that aims to generate donations for a few well-known Ukrainian aid organisations. Since the commencement of the invasion in February, approximately $100 million has been contributed to Ukraine in the form of NFTs and bitcoin. However, assistance is still required.
After the Russian army attacked Kharkiv’s Freedom Square on March 1st, President Volodymyr Zenelsky declared, “Every square today, no matter what it’s called, will be called Freedom Square, in every city of our country.”
John Pleasants, the CEO of Brava Home, came up with the concept for Freedom Squares NFT. He had the notion after hearing President Zelensky’s address. Mr. Pleasants believes that mapping all of the most important squares would be spiritually uplifting, while converting them into NFTs can bring great financial assistance.
Upcoming Sale
There will be 6,468 non-fungible tokens in the Freedom Squares NFT collection. In four different patterns, the set depicts 1,617 Ukrainian city squares. A person who collects all four different styles will also receive an extra version, the Guardian variant, through airdrop.
The public sale should begin on May 10th, with each piece costing 0.1 ETH ($295). Freedom Squares plans to raise a minimum of 755 ETH ($2.2 million).
The money will be sent to CORE and World Central Kitchen, two American aid groups working in Ukraine. The NFT collection will also serve to raise awareness of the communities that are suffering. Pleasants had previously stated that Web 3.0 might have a significant impact on the maintenance of democracy.
