Yield Guild Games contribute to Philippine Typhoon Relief

Yield Guild Games (YGG) has contributed $1.45 million to aid those affected by Typhoon Odette, which hit the Philippines on December 16, with approximately $1 million already distributed to those in need. Isn’t it amazing? It is tragic how people have been impacted by this, but thankfully the relief fund could provide some support to people.

The funds were used to purchase necessary items including medicines, power generators, and canned food, which were then distributed to impacted communities by the Philippine Army and Navy and non-profit organizations.

According to a spokesman from YGG, around $458,000 worth of crypto and tokens have been given to the relief fund, but they have yet to be converted to fiat currency for deployment.

The aid operation was announced by the Filipino section of the play-to-earn gaming guild “YGG Pilipinas” a day after Typhoon Odette slammed the nation, and it quickly raised $110,000 in a variety of crypto tokens including SLP, AXS, ETH, WETH, and USDC by the end of the day.

What do you think about this initiative of Yield Guild Games ?
