The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10,000 Ethereum-based Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) designed to look like Apes. It is inspired by NFT projects like CryptoPunks, where each NFT is completely unique and original.
Each Ape has a unique rarity based on what it is wearing, doing, and its background. Yuga Labs’ four pseudonymous founders, Gargamel, Gordon Goner, Emperor Tomato Ketchup, and No Sass, developed the project.
BAYC has introduced additional lines of NFTs, NFT upgrades, and an exclusive club for BAYC holders. These improvements have maintained interest in the project, resulting in exceptional selling prices like the $3.4 million (USD) NFT below at Sotheby’s.
