Gucci now offers SHIB and other crypto tokens

As previously reported by CryptoShrypto, Gucci, the Italian luxury fashion house, has begun taking cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, and five stablecoins tied to the US dollar as payment, including Dogecoin, a meme coins, as payment for its products at 5 selected locations across North America.

Crypto payments will be done by using a link provided to the consumer through email, which will contain a QR code. Customers are required to scan the received QR code in order to pay to execute the payment for fashion items from their crypto wallet.

According to Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri, Gucci is always open to new technology. Gucci was hardly the first fashion house to dive into blockchain technology. It took the risk of issuing an NFT in May, which was eventually sold for $25,000.

Last summer, word broke that Philipp Plein, a German design label, has begun to take cryptocurrencies after forming a collaboration with cryptocurrency payment processor Coinfy. The fashion industry appears to be keen to begin accepting payments all across the world. This year, Italian John Richmond began working with Shiba Inu in the winter.
