Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has mockingly praised EOS, a formerly blockchain project, calling that its abbreviation stands for “Ethereum on Steroids.” In the tweet, he went on to say that the project’s core staff was able to learn from Ethereum’s inexperience and idealism and ended up constructing a very scalable blockchain project. Buterin has previously been highly critical of EOS, so his endorsement is regarded as a surprise.
EOS is Ethereum On Steroids.
The name reflects the fact that the core team learned from Ethereum's amateurish naivety and idealism, and built out a team of professional top-talent software developers that created a smart contract platform with much higher scalability and speed.

Given the unusual tone of the tweet, particularly the criticism levied at how ETH developers have conducted themselves, the internet is split on whether Buterin was being satirical. Others took the post at face value, expressing surprise that a Canadian coder was promoting the failing Ethereum killer.
What is EOS?
In actuality, Buterin just referenced an ongoing joke inside the EOS (Ethereum On Speed) community, and only a few of the programmer’s followers appeared to catch it. EOS, which was perhaps the most touted blockchain in the world due to its record-breaking $4 billion Initial Coin Offerings, has slipped into anonymity in recent years. Despite becoming one of the top cryptocurrencies in 2018, the native EOS token is presently ranked 48th in terms of market capitalization.
EOS is now down 96% from it’s all-time high of $22.71 set in April 2018. EOS was a top 5 coin at the time, competing with Ethereum and Cardano.
In a recent tweet, EOS CEO Yves La Rose recognized the issues with the project. However, he reversed this by referencing a rebound and the development of “The New EOS.”
The #EOS community has been through a lot, but they’ve shown great resiliency.
Other than Bitcoin, has any blockchain shown itself to be as resilient as $EOS?
After we pull off the comeback, everyone will be talking about The New $EOS…and as more than just a victim @hosseeb https://t.co/1gMWOm28Bh

EOS is working on numerous initiatives, including the Recovery+ effort, which refers to a defined hacker response mechanism for a safer, more dependable network, the introduction of Pomelo Season 3 NFTs, and the launch of the Co2Zero carbon trading DEX.
How the community is reacting on Twitter
In reaction to Buterin’s tweet about Ethereum On Speed, Cardano creator and Input-Output CEO Charles Hoskinson asked whether he was all right.
V, you OK? https://t.co/vbW9gNjcHo

Vitalik has been acting very odd lately. Not sure what’s up with that.

On the tweet, Jungle Inc, a crypto YouTuber reacted by claiming that Buterin’s conduct has been strange recently, before concluding the conversation by expressing perplexity over the remark. Daniel Larimer praised him for recognizing our developers’ technological achievements. I admire your capacity to remain impartial in the face of tribalism.
Wait until you see what we are building next with @gofractally and our new web3 platform. Thanks for recognition of the technical achievements of our devs. I appreciate your ability to be objective and above all the tribalism.

In a June 24 post, @songadayman criticized Buterin’s idealistic goals for society, claiming that his criticisms of what eth has become are missed by most people. Buterin responded to @songadaymann by explaining that his critiques about cryptocurrency originate from his expectation of more from the industry.
The fact that I'm even more critical of lots of non-crypto things going on in the world is also lost on people.
Point to *one* big-country (>100m) government in the world today that we can be proud of. I don't see any.
