Uniswap Labs hires former NYSE president as an adviser

Stacey Cunningham, the former president of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), announced on Twitter about her new position as an adviser with the well-known cryptocurrency exchange Uniswap Labs on June 15.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Cunningham has over a decade of experience at the NYSE. She was president from May 2018 until December 2021 and is still on the board. She was the first female president of the NYSE.

Cunningham joined Uniswap Labs, the developer of the Uniswap decentralised cryptocurrency exchange, because she believes in “the promise of decentralised exchange and Uniswap Labs’ dedication to fairer markets.”

Cunningham isn’t the only established person Uniswap Labs has recently hired, as has been the case with several crypto firms that have experienced an inflow of TradFi employees over the last year.

Uniswap Labs appointed former Obama spokeswoman Hari Sevugan as their new communications officer in October 2021. It also hired Mary-Catherine Lader as its first COO in June of the prior year. Lader formerly managed a team at BlackRock that developed sustainable investing features for the portfolio management tool Aladdin.
