An American company Topps has revealed its plans to auction one of the world’s most valuable baseball cards in NFT form – a Topps 1952 Mickey Mantle card. The Topps is an American business famous for Bazooka chewing gum, candies, and collectibles. The Topps 1 of 1 “Timeless Collectible” will be released in March as NFT and sold on the Opensea NFT marketplace.
The chewing gum company has revealed the minting of one of the rare baseball cards in history as NFT. It also announced its plan to auction it from March 1 to March 4, 2022, on Opensea . According to the website of the company, Topps 1952 Mickey Mantle card is a highly demanded-after item in the real world. The card’s actual value is approximately USD 5.2 million.
The chewing firm further noted, “……It is one of the world’s most rare collectibles and supporters will now have the option to establish Mantle’s legacy on the Ethereum blockchain……The company is proud to present the first-ever MLB NFT to just be offered on Opensea..….”.
According to Topps, only one 1952 Mickey Mantle NFT will be produced, on the Ethereum platform and auctioned on Opensea. As per reports, the auction winner will have a 30-minute interview with Mickey Mantle’s son.
