Dogecoin is “awesome” and “quite enjoyable,” according to Litecoin founder Charlie Lee. He thinks that the most popular meme cryptocurrency is ready to attract a numerous new users.
Elon Musk, a billionaire, was also complimented by Lee for making cryptocurrencies “a mainstream topic.” Dogecoin was created in December 2013 as a derivative of the now-defunct Litecoin fork “Lucky Coin.” The parody coin immediately grew in popularity, but it wasn’t until 2021 that it broke into the mainstream.
Lee, who notably sold his Litecoin holdings immediately before the huge meltdown in early 2018 and was accused of insider trading, claims Bitcoin is now his largest holding. He refuses to invest in his idea because he wants to concentrate on the technical aspects of the project without thinking about how they can affect the coin’s price.
