Facebook, the social media giant, has stated that it believes that Research SuperCluster (RSC) is already one of the quickest supercomputers across the globe. According to the 24 January blog post related to the unveiling of the hardware, it is stated that it’ll absolutely start operating in mid-2022.“The paintings executed with RSC will pave the manner closer to constructing technology for the following predominant computing platform — the metaverse, in which AI-pushed programs and merchandise will play a critical role” claimed the agency.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg on 25 Jan posted on Facebook:
“The experiences we’re building for the metaverse require enormous compute power (quintillions of operations/second!) and RSC will enable new AI models that can learn from trillions of examples, understand hundreds of languages, and more.”
The system could be capable of painting through loads of various languages to develop “superior AI” for laptop vision, verbal language processing, and speech recognition. Meta still hasn’t disclosed the location of the computer, or its manufacturing cost.
Decentralized finance analyst Camilla Russo has compared Meta’s new system to the Ethereum network which takes aid from the few already existing enterprises to become a global “supercomputer”.
