Six Swiss Exchange has launched two additional carbon-neutral crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs), bringing the total number of ETPs on the market to 155.
Additionally, the SIX Swiss Exchange announced on Monday that Helveteq, the third crypto ETP issuer to join SIX in 2022, would launch two new crypto ETPs, Bitcoin (Bitcoin Zero/BTCO2) and Ethereum (Ether Zero/ETH2O).
A derivative financial instrument, such as an ETP, is based on assets like commodities, currencies, stock prices, or interest rates and trades in accordance with them. The BTCO2 and ETH2O ETPs intend to offer investors exposure to two of the world’s most valuable cryptocurrencies while also offsetting their carbon footprints. “Crypto Becomes Carbon Neutral,” a campaign led by Helveteq in partnership with the University of Zurich’s Fintech Innovation Lab, has started. Christian Katz, CEO of Helveteq, remarked on the current listing, emphasising the importance of carbon-neutral crypto ETPs.
Since the launch of the world’s first crypto ETP on the Swiss SIX Exchange in December 2018, a wave of other crypto ETPs has arisen. The Amun Crypto Basket ETP (HODL), for example, was introduced in 2018 as the platform’s first ETP, tracking five major cryptocurrencies.
For the first time, investors may have access to the world’s most valuable cryptocurrency via SIX’s BTCetc Bitcoin ETP (BTCE) trading. The portal provides access to 240 cryptocurrency-based items. According to the company’s announcement, the transaction volume of crypto-related products has increased 673 percent as a result.
