A recent poll, the results of which were announced earlier this week, shed more light on how Argentines see cryptocurrencies and how they might use them. According to the survey, over 74 percent of citizens would acquire cryptocurrencies in the future to invest or preserve purchasing power.
In terms of cryptocurrency popularity, the survey indicated that 90% of those polled had heard of cryptocurrencies before the survey. However, because of its popularity, crypto cannot be used directly. According to the survey, only 38% of respondents are familiar with the operation and inner workings of crypto assets.
Argentines, on the other hand, are eager to use cryptocurrency in a variety of ways if necessary. 74% of those polled said they would acquire and use cryptocurrencies as financial assets or to save some of their money.
The survey looked at how citizens felt about cryptocurrency compared to other investment instruments like equities and bonds. In this regard, cryptocurrencies performed in the middle, trailing traditional instruments like the dollar but outperforming others.
According to Moscoco, the survey is a symptom of the times when Argentines are concerned about the country’s economic situation and are looking into alternative ways to save money in a high-inflationary atmosphere. However, he also stated that this interest is hampered by the high level of understanding required to enter the cryptocurrency realm by the average citizen. Of the 74 percent of Argentines who said they would be prepared to buy crypto assets, 49 percent said they would buy them but didn’t know how.
