Seven judgement pending in Ripple SEC lawsuit: James K. Filan

According to defence attorney James K. Filan, the seven judgments in the Ripple SEC lawsuit are now pending. He focuses on the following judgments:

  • The first is a decision by Magistrate Judge Netburn on the SEC’s allegation that all of Hinman’s emails were protected by attorney-client privilege. 
  • The second point of contention is Judge Netburn’s DPP judgement.
  • Third, the Ripple’s defendant seeks to force the SEC to respond to or change their responses to specific admission demands (RFA). 
  • Fourth, there was a motion for attorney’s fees in connection with Metz’s supplemental report. 
  • The fifth motion is for an amicus brief to support the petition to exclude expert testimony based on “Daubert issues.” 
  • Sixth, there is a move to exclude expert testimony.
  • And last, is followed by requests for summary judgement.

On the Ripple defendants’ move to force the SEC to respond to specific admission requests The SEC’s response to Ripple’s request to compel is due on June 2, 2022, and the Ripple defendants’ reply is due on June 13, 2022.

Based on the additional Metz report, the following request for attorney’s fees was filed: By today, May 27, all sides are scheduled to file a unified response.
