Sandbox invests USD 50 million in startups Accelerator Program

Virtual World Project Sandbox has announced the Metaverse Accelerator program to accelerate the development of open metaverse by investing USD 50 million in startups.

The Sandbox Metaverse Accelerator program allocates up to USD 250,000 in investment to each potential metaverse accelerator project. Benefits include  Sandbox Digital Assets (SANDs) and lands, digital properties within the Sandbox Metaverse. In addition, top-performing startups will also have the access to additional investment grants and the chance to directly work with the industry pioneers.

According to Sebastien Borget, co-founder of The Sandbox, this program is an extension of his goal of supporting a new wave of Metaverse entrepreneurs. This allows startups around the world to realize their ideas. He states that “the company is particularly keen to support the undervalued founder’s ambitions to explore the infinite possibilities offered by the sandbox ecosystem”.

The application is currently open and the first batch of investments will be made by the second quarter of 2022. This program runs as part of Launchpad Luna, a collaboration between Animoca Brands and Brinc, aimed at supporting startup development. The program supports the development of the open metaverse.
