Samsung users face issues in release of Galaxy S22 at the Metaverse event

Samsung has launched its new Galaxy S22 premium smartphone range in the Decentraland metaverse via the virtual Samsung 837X space. Over 100,000 people attended the “Samsung Unpacked 2022: The Epic Standard of Smartphone Experiences” event in the first 11 hours after it started on February 9 at 1:37 PM UTC, making it one of Decentraland’s most visited places to date.

The South Korean multinational electronics company showcased the new Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra on a screen in the “Connectivity Theatre” of the Samsung 837X space. Fans who are not interested in the metaverse might watch the stream on Samsung’s YouTube account and other social media sites.

Users can theoretically preorder the new devices by clicking an icon that takes them to Samsung’s website. However, technical glitches hampered the feature, with many users complaining on Samsung’s Twitter.

One person inquired, “Did the site collapse? I can’t even put my item in the cart.” Another user said that the same thing had occurred to them. They went on to say that “scalpers and robots seem to be trying to steal the show. “Others, meanwhile, claimed that they couldn’t get the NFT badge for completing the event’s “Turning Red Hearts Green” treasure hunt game. The “quest” will last five days, culminating on February 14.
