RippleX announces the winners of the XRPL NFT-Devnet hackathon, as well as the NFT use cases that the developers have begun developing on the Ledger. RippleX is an open money platform that allows developers and entrepreneurs to integrate payments into their apps using the XRP Ledger.
XRP Ledger now has a native token capability named XLS-20d built-in. The NFT-Devnet, a beta environment for improving XRP Ledger’s NFT capabilities, is now being used. While most early NFT use cases focused on avatars, art, and collectibles, additional utility-based applications are beginning to emerge, forcing the creation of more advanced NFT solutions on the XRPL.
Ripple proposed the XLS-20 standard last year, which would allow the XRP Ledger to support a native NFT type and provide a pleasant NFT experience. On the XRPL platform, the new XLS-20 standard aims to help developers create more complex and innovative NFT apps. Ripple announced in mid-March that it would commit 1 billion XRP to help the XRP Ledger’s development and new use cases (XRPL). The fund was founded in 2021 as an extension of the XRPL awards programme and has since provided $6 million in total support to over 50 open-source projects based on the XRP Ledger.
The XRPL awards programme furthers Ripple’s shared goal with the developer community to help build the Internet of Value by introducing innovations and new use cases for blockchain technology, notably the XRPL. The first two waves of the XRPL awards programme focused on NFTs and Federated Sidechains, respectively.
