The Tonale SUV, Alfa Romeo’s newest model, has been unveiled. The startup claims to be the first in the industry to link each car to a blockchain-based token that can be tracked throughout the vehicle’s life cycle. The fact that each car is linked to a nonfungible token is one of the SUV’s most distinguishing features (NFT). The Tonale NFT, according to Alfa Romeo, certifies a vehicle at the moment of purchase and subsequently records and retains data throughout the car’s lifetime.
Automobile manufacturers are fast entering the NFT market, which is anticipated to reach $240 billion by the end of the decade, by minting one-of-a-kind collectible digital tokens that are sometimes bundled with vehicle purchases.
Several premium car manufacturers, including Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes-Benz, have tried NFTs. Lamborghini, for example, debuted its first NFT project, “Space-Time Memory,” which consists of five photographs depicting a Lamborghini Ultimate travelling through space. Mercedes-Benz and Art2People have collaborated to create a limited-edition Mercedes-Benz NFT collection based on its G-Class car selection.
That’s everything new happening with the Alfa Romeo SUV. Wrap!
