The Ledger Cardano (ADA) App, a popular cryptocurrency hardware provider, has been updated with new Cardano ecosystem features. The Cardano app, which has been updated to version 4.0.0, now supports smart contracts.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson praised French crypto hardware wallet provider Ledger on Tuesday, announcing that the Cardano app for Ledger wallets is now compatible with Cardano-powered smart contracts in version 4.0.0. (April 26).
In 2014, Eric Larcheveque, Nicolas Bacca, Joel Pobeda, and Thomas France founded Ledger in Paris. The company’s current cryptocurrency hardware wallets include the Ledger Nano X, Ledger Nano S, and Ledger Nano S Plus. To the delight of the Cardano community, Ledger’s support team revealed that the Ledger Live app is presently working on adding complete Cardano compatibility.
The Ledger Cardano app got a smart contract update on September 12, 2021, but it has yet to be implemented. To offer customers the exposure they need, Ledger had to enhance the ADA app to integrate the most recent Cardano functionality.
As a result of the upgrade, Cardano app users will be able to sign smart contracts and perform other operations, according to the Ledger. However, before proceeding with the current version, Ledger Cardano app users must first update their Ledger wallet firmware and install the Ledger Live App on their smartphone. Cardano’s decentralised YoROI and AdaLite applications will be available to users who have completed the Cardano app update.
