As per the recent consensus amongst “degenerate apes”, the NFTs are heading their way to the moon. The government agency NASA stated that it would not provide any kind of support or permission for the use of its contents and logos for takeoff. This is a key statement because photographs and video footage from US government agencies are normally not copyright protected and can be freely utilised in the media for educational and instructive purposes.
While the NFT industry continues to grow at a rapid pace, with platforms like OpenSea already reporting record monthly volumes in January, NASA has declared in its media usage guidelines that it does not want any of its content tokenized. NASA’s logo has commonly been used for commercial reasons, like branding on clothing, although the agency has stated that it won’t be able to approve such uses in the NFT sphere.
It is not permitted to authorise merchandise or items in categories such as alcohol, food, cosmetics, cigarettes, undergarments, and technology under the criteria established by government entities.
On the other hand, NASA has been tangentially active in NFT space through various channels in the past.
