More than 60 celebrities, including Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher, invest $87 million in MoonPay

MoonPay, a cryptocurrency payment service, revealed that $86.7 million have been invested in the firm by some of the world’s most famous personalities and organisations from music, sports, media, and entertainment.

The strategic investors represent sectors that are on the verge of being transformed by web3 technology, which is revolutionising the way creatives, artists, and sports approach creation, fan interaction, and intellectual property management. Ashton Kutcher, Bruce Willis, Eva Longoria, James Corden, Justin Biber, Sam Feldt, Scooter Braun, Paris Hilton, and Steve Aoki are among the investors.

The combined investment of more than 60 high-profile investors demonstrates a growing trust in Web3’s ability to change entertainment and increase the value of artists globally. Many artists and singers are using NFTs to directly communicate with their followers. Web3 is fast altering the way artists are compensated and is creating new ownership models that empower performers.

Moonpay is focused on making NFTs more available to the general public and providing major NFT markets with more accessible methods to communicate with the general public. In 160 countries, the firm has 10 million clients. MoonPay is now worth more than $3.4 billion. At the end of 2021, it received $555 million in its Series A financing round.
