Metaverse Marriage: Dubai couple registers first metaverse marriage in UAE

A Dubai-based couple has opted for a metaverse marriage because legal issues relating to their nationalities compelled them to marry in Georgia in 2019. Following the marriage, the pair stated that they will utilise their personal experience to assist others in getting married in the metaverse.

Florian Ughetto and Liz Nunez, a French couple living in Dubai faced issues in registering their marriage. Now they are allegedly going for the metaverse marriage on May 19.  The pair claimed they decided to marry in the metaverse approximately 3 years after they hitched in Georgia.

According to a Blockchain Group article, the couple’s marriage attire was purchased through Opensea, an NFT marketplace. 20 close friends of the couple will join them through the metaverse.

According to the article, after exchanging vows and all the rituals, the couple will go to a place in the metaverse for the after marriage celebration.

According to the story, the pair married in Georgia in 2019 after having problems registering their marriage locally because of their nationalities.

Meanwhile, the couple has now formed their marriage planning firm, which will concentrate on virtual weddings. The pair plans to utilise their metaverse marriage as a practice run.

While the exact cost of the event has not been disclosed, according to the source, it would cost more than $800 or DH3,000.
