Melania Trump, the wife of the former President of the United States, is well-known for her pro-crypto position and has successfully sold one of her numerous NFTs. However, blockchain data indicates that the digital token was sold to the asset’s creators.
According to available information, the mentioned NFT is part of the “Head of State Collection, 2022,” which also includes “three important one-of-a-kind signature items” of clothes. She wore those clothes during France’s President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to the White House in 2018.
The collection was minted on the Solana blockchain and received positive feedback from the public. According to the New York Times reports, the auction was won by a bid of about 1800 SOL, which means $170,000.
A review of blockchain data reveals that the account that minted the NFT delivered $473,000 in USDC to another address. Later the fund converted part into 1816 units of Solana, which was then transferred to another address that won the auction.
The former First Lady’s representatives did not confirm who purchased the alleged NFT; instead, they stated that “the nature of the Blockchain protocol is entirely transparent.”
As a result, the public has access to each transaction on the blockchain. A third-party buyer was represented in the transaction. It should be noted that this NFT transaction is not Melania Trump’s first entry into the crypto space.
