Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, was finally settled on June 1. The price of an NFT collection depicting the famous actor hit new highs as a result of the jury’s decision in favour of Depp.
The NFT collection “Never Fear Truth,” which includes Johnny Depp’s paintings from Pirates of the Caribbean, had its price increase on June 1st, after the actor won his defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp’s NFT collection launched in January, but it failed to gain momentum. However, once Depp was declared the winner of the defamation claim, the price of the collection began to rise.
The collection started at a price of 0.70 ETH and soared to a peak of 1.64 ETH on March 11th. However, by the next week, the price had dropped to as low as 0.55 ETH.
The floor price for the 3,850 ‘Never Fear Truth’ NFTs was 0.446 ETH (about $820). The collection’s floor price rose to $900 on June 2nd, one day after the jury issued the case’s judgement.
The “Never Fear Truth” generative art collection on OpenSea was generated on Ethereum and is made up of 3,850 NFTs designed by Johnny Depp.
Among the “friends and idols” included in the collection are Heath Ledger, Tim Burton, River Phoenix, Elizabeth Taylor, Al Pacino, and Hunter S. Thompson.
