Joe Rogan, a well-known American podcaster, UFC commentator, and comedian, has remarked that bitcoin reminds him of the early days of the Internet. According to him, it has emerged as a “viable kind of currency,” which is a major source of concern for the US government.
During his most recent podcast episode, Joe Rogan repeated his support for bitcoin, claiming that the asset’s current state is similar to the early Internet.
According to Rogan, the US government did not anticipate BTC becoming a “viable currency” that could be used to purchase goods. As a result, the officials began “freaking out” and are now attempting to deal with the problem.
The UFC commentator believes that American politicians would not ban the use of cryptocurrency since they had a bad experience attempting to impose Internet control under the Obama administration. The decision generated a strong response from society and was immediately reversed.
In the case of digital assets, Rogan anticipates that the US government will create a centralised digital currency that they will be able to manage. This, however, will restrict people’s purchasing power and deprive them of their financial independence.
The comedian stated in January that cryptocurrencies may become monetary tools that enhance people’s lives. Despite admitting that he doesn’t fully understand them, he praised Bitcoin and Ethereum as the most popular in the industry.
