Floki Inu first declared its entry into the metaverse in the summer of 2021 and is now planning to launch the game’s first playable alpha test-net game this month.
Jackie Xu, a lead Floki developer, quoted that:
The Valhalla team has done an excellent job of establishing the groundwork for traditional gaming to enter the blockchain space appropriately. Valhalla isn’t going to be another disconnected earn-to-play game.
The game will include upgradeable non-fungible tokens (NFTs), including the Flokitars, which have already been released. It will also feature a prototype fighting system with two playable Vera creatures, one of which is a bear and the other a hat. The monsters will be able to roam around the battlefield, making the game more “intense, competitive, and tactical,” and will have up to five powers that may be unlocked through a levelling system. They’ll also have personalities that “influence hidden growth numbers.”

After launch, the team plans to add a “clan subscription system,” leaderboards, new skills, new animals, and other features. Floki Inu and other gamers will be able to play the game on their computers. Optimism, a layer-two scaling approach, will be used for the game. However, the team stated that “details and features are subject to change, as game development is a continuous process.”
