FlickPlay, a metaverse social app, announced a partnership with The Sandbox on Monday to improve interoperability between the two metaverse platforms.
In The Sandbox metaverse game, Flicky, an anthropomorphic chameleon dressed in various outfits, will now be available as an avatar for FlickPlay players. Flicky is FlickPlay’s first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
FlickPlay is a social metaverse software similar to Pokémon Go that allows players to search for digital collectibles in the real world using an interactive map on their phones and make videos using augmented reality with the digital items they find (AR).
Metaverse Interoperability
FlickPlay and The Sandbox’s collaboration has introduced the concept of interoperability between metaverses. The goal is to use the same set of NFTs and accessories to explore other metaverses.
Users will be able to unlock Flicky NFT collections to use in The Sandbox game first. It will allow gamers to utilise the same Flicky character in both games. FlickPlay’s founder and CEO, Pierina Merino, anticipates the firms will complete the interoperability feature by the end of the year.
According to the plan, the corporation will release 12000 Flicky NFT collectibles. 200 Flicky will have special Sandbox qualities, which will grant their owners a variety of outstanding rewards in The Sandbox Game.
Furthermore, the types of special incentives linked with Flicky’s features range from bespoke fashion statements to free airdrops, signed items from famous musicians and athletes, access to exclusive events, and more, all worth 0.1 ETH or more.
