Fans of Mexican football club Tigres may now pay for match tickets with crypto

Along with the rising popularity, cryptocurrencies are making steps in the market by being accepted as a payment option by an increasing number of merchants. Thanks to a new collaboration, it is now possible to buy products or tickets for Tigres games inside the stadium.

The alliance between Club Tigres and Bitso, which was initially announced in November, is gathering momentum with the addition of more partnerships that permit cryptocurrency purchases. Bitso has joined up with Boletomóvil and Bitpay.

Fans may now use Bitso to buy tickets for upcoming events, including Tigres-America on April 23 at the Estadio Universitario. All of these partnerships aim to increase the value of cryptocurrencies. Bitpay, on the other hand, is a Bitcoin payment network with over 4 million registered users. It also allows for the instant transfer and conversion of cryptocurrencies into any other form of current currency.

Bitso and Club Tigres are working as a liquidity provider to transform the way crypto payments are handled between these two companies. As a result, Tigres Femenil became the first team in Mexico to use cryptocurrency to trade player Stefany Ferrer to Angel City FC in the United States.

Bitso sponsors the Mexican National Team and claims that its purpose is to help Mexican football “prosper” in the global digital economy via cryptocurrency. Rappi, a Colombian delivery platform, experienced a similar development. Mexico will be the first country where Rappi will explore payment options using digital currency. Bitso and Bitpay have worked together to create this prototype phase.
