Miami E11EVEN is doubling down on its Web 3 drive with the launch of “E11EVEN Crypto”, a new crypto-dedicated division of its brand created in partnership with blockchain developer Horizen Labs. The new division’s first offering is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection titled “11 Captain’s Club”, which will be issued in early April, with artwork inspired by the club’s iconic hat designs and a hefty 1 ETH (about $2,700) mint price.
Now, the company is looking to NFTs as its next chance to make money. This comes at a time when Miami is trying to become a hot spot for crypto innovation and culture in the United States.
E11EVEN made its first step into digital collectibles in December, when it bought Bored Ape #11 as its first NFT for 99 ETH (about $272,000). While Simkins was unable to confirm any upcoming Bored Ape activities at the club, he did hint at an in-person meet-up for Captain Club NFT holders around the time of the upcoming Bitcoin 2022 conference in April.
The New York-based company Horizen Labs was chosen by the club to build the project’s backend. In August, Kenetic Capital led a fundraising round that raised $7 million for the project.
