The popularity of meme-based cryptocurrency Dogecoin for payment is rising, and various firms and companies are tweeting about Elon Musk’s previous tweet regarding the “Offer of Dogecoin as payment”. One example is The Lost Leaf, an American pub in Phoenix, Arizona, which announced yesterday that it accepts $DOGE as a form of payment for beverages. The Lost Leaf describes itself as both an art bar and a concert venue.
Lost Leaf began in nearly 2001 as a website specialising in antique art prints, they said. Then they came up with a concept of focusing on local artists and assisting them by contributing 100 percent of all art purchases, but they needed a physical presence. It first opened as an art gallery on First Fridays in January 2004.
They applied for a liquor licence in March 2006, and it was granted in May 2007. On May 25, 2007, they began full-time (rather than only the first Fridays).
The Lost Leaf also functions as a music venue, offering free live music or DJs “every night of the year beginning at 9 p.m.”
In terms of Dogecoin acceptance, MrBeast Burger, a delivery-only American burger company, declared on Wednesday (January 26) that it would begin working on accepting $DOGE if Tesla CEO Elon Musk reposted the tweet below.
