Visa conducted a study of small companies and discovered that over a quarter of those polled want to take cryptocurrency payments this year. “I believe more consumers are becoming more confident with cryptocurrency,” a Visa official stated.
Small businesses in nine different countries are planning to accept cryptocurrency.
Visa released research on digital payments this year on Wednesday. Wakefield Research conducted a poll of 2,250 small business owners with 100 or less workers in Brazil, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States in December 2021.
As per Visa, a 2022 strategy for small and micro businesses (SMBs) includes “going long on digital transactions – including crypto.”
According to the payments company, 24 percent of those polled want to accept digital currencies including bitcoin.
“An overwhelming 82 percent of SMBs polled stated they aim to take some sort of digital option in 2022, and 73 percent regard accepting new forms of payments as vital to their business success,” the company explained.
Jeni Mundy, Visa’s global head of merchant sales and acquisition, was cited as stating, “I think a lot more people are finding more confidence with cryptocurrency.”
Visa debuted cryptocurrency advice services in December. Furthermore, Visa’s head of cryptocurrencies recently disclosed that the business has worked with 60 cryptocurrency platforms to allow customers to spend virtual money at 80 million merchants globally.
