ConsenSys and LivePerson unveil plan to launch VillageDAO, a Web3 customer service

Two companies ConsenSys and LivePerson have unveiled their plan to launch a VillageDAO with the aim of solving the problem of lack of customer service for Web3. While ConsenSys is the company behind the MetaMask Ethereum wallet, LivePerson is a customer service network that employs artificial intelligence.

Need of VillageDAO, a Web3 customer service

When things go wrong, consumers like to have someone to contact. In this aspect, Web3 is not known for its exceptional Yelp ratings. Many decentralised wallets and NFT initiatives do not have a dedicated customer support staff, unlike crypto exchanges. As a result, if a transaction fails, a consumer or collector is obliged to seek assistance from social media.

The aim of establishing a VillageDAO is to have a decentralised community of specialists accessible to help a growing Web3 customer base. The VillageDAO will provide a mechanism for diverse businesses to collaborate and support a growing Web3 customer base without competing.

Collaboration of ConsenSys and LivePerson

ConsenSys and LivePerson started working together in 2021 to integrate LivePerson’s conversational artificial intelligence technologies into the MetaMask platform for speedy and scalable customer care.

Development plans of VillageDAO

According to available information, VillageDAO will give incentives and other benefits to encourage community members to join the DAO and become experts in its services. VillageDAO’s initial offering will be to MetaMask, a popular Ethereum wallet developed by ConsenSys in 2016.

On the unveiling of the VillageDAO plans, Vice President of Client Success Dror Avieli from ConsenSys stated the followings :

“We started seeing an insane spike in monthly active users in early 2021. There was also an instant growth in the number of assistance queries. Watching the number of MetaMask users expand is exciting. However, it has presented various obstacles, including how to give timely customer assistance so that people don’t fall prey to social media scammers. Our commitment to opening Web3 for founders and consumers includes VillageDAO.”
