CEO of IO Global is in all awe of Ethereum, and it’s leader Vitalik Buterin

Charles Hoskinson, Co-Founder and CEO of IO Global (aka “IOG”, formerly known as “IOHK”), the company in charge of Cardano ($ADA) research and development, recently spoke about what he admires about Ethereum and its ecosystem.

During a “Surprise AMA” on his YouTube channel on Tuesday, Hoskinson, who is also one of the initial co-founders of Ethereum Foundation (as well as its first CEO), made these remarks (February 22).

The final question in this AMA was whether Ethereum is superior to Cardano in any way.

Hoskinson discussed his favourite aspects of Ethereum, the Ethereum community, and Vitalik Buterin’s leadership:

Ethereum is, after all, a subset of Cardano in its current form. When side chains arrive, Cardano will be everything Ethereum is. They’ve been merged into one. It’s similar to how real numbers are different from integers in that real numbers have a lot more of them and can perform a lot more things, but integers are contained within real numbers.”

He further stated:

“When Ethereum arose, all of a sudden, there were NFTs, oracles, and video games, as well as all kinds of odd experiences such as metaverse stuff. It’s quite exciting, and Ethereum was the first to do so, and there’s still a lot of power and energy in that community about achieving large goals. Building big, doing things a little differently, and there’s this incredible rejuvenation that lasts year after year, and a culture that doesn’t take itself too seriously… For better or worse, there is a culture there that is extremely different from Cardano.”
