On June 21, during a live broadcast entitled “Vasil Upgrade – The State of Play”, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson outlined his expectations for the Vasil Hard Fork event
A crucial part of the Cardano founder’s address is recounted by ADA whale, a Cardano community-focused Twitter handle:
The IOG team of engineers says that the important work is about to be completed, and only seven bedbugs are needed for the hard work of the fork. According to a recent blog, the mainnet submission of Vasil Hard Fork has been postponed until the end of July.
Cardano has a “slow and steady” strategy, which has always been criticised. As a result, a quick scan of Twitter responses showed a mixed bag of ideas, and postponement news is generally well received.
IOHK vice-president of the public and ecosystem, Tim Harrison, stated:
“Yes, it is sad that we will not be able to meet our first deadline. But it is very important that we do this right – and the team continues to apply for hours. This may not even register as a delay, according to the Cardano (ADA) whale. It comes at the time originally set, just to iron a few creases.”
YorkA, a Twitter user, was not surprised by the incident: “I was really sceptical that we would be able to launch Vasil’s hard fork in time. It’s a pity we didn’t get it on the 29th, but I’m glad we didn’t, and I’m glad the engineer community spoke up and asked for time. It’s exciting to hear that we’re in no hurry to make this improvement. “
Cardano Yoda, another Twitter user, welcomed the team’s approach: “I commend the team’s warning for publishing only things that are sure to work. This is the right path to success. It does not matter if you are a few weeks late.”
