As per the WhaleStats statistics, APE is among the top ten most acquired tokens by the 1,000 greatest whales on the Ethereum network, with Tether ($USDT) taking the top spot. The average buy amount for USDT is approximately $730,000, and the average purchase amount for ETH is $322,000. It is followed by USDC, which has a $275,000 average buy amount, and APE, which has a $45,000 purchase amount.
ApeCoin ($APE), the governance token of the popular non-fungible token (NFT) collection Bored Ape Yacht Club, has become the most traded token among the Ethereum ($ETH) network’s largest whales, with Shiba Inu ($SHIB) and FTX ($FTT) retaining top holdings. According to statistics from whale monitoring firm WhaleStats, APE became the most traded token among Ethereum whales immediately after its inception. However, its price began to settle after initially rising and falling.
Shiba Inu, a meme-inspired cryptocurrency, sits at the bottom of the list, with an average purchase price of $13,600. FTT is not on the list, implying that whales are just hoarding the token rather than aggressively collecting it. It’s worth mentioning that APE was listed on major cryptocurrency exchanges like Coinbase and Binance immediately after its inception, which considerably increased its liquidity straight away. TIME Magazine‘s web 3.0 effort, TIMEPieces, also accepts cryptocurrencies as a payment mechanism.
According to statistics, the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection is presently the most valued. The CryptoPunks collection comes next, followed by the Mutant Ape Yacht Club collection.
