The Algorand Foundation has awarded APAS, a Miami-based company, a grant. The foundation’s grant will be used to further APAS’ aim of maintaining and protecting the world’s watersheds.
In the United States of America, the startup intends to digitise the watershed concept. APAS intends to accomplish this by taking a decentralised approach to monitoring the country’s watershed quality.
Artificial Intelligence, Sensor Technology, Edge Computing, and Machine Learning are some of the technologies used by APAS. Analytics and data visualisation will help to support these technologies. APAS wants to encourage residents to take an active role in watershed management. APAS anticipates a large turnout in the campaign through water-related recreational activities.
Local governments will be given access to the data, allowing them to establish water governance rules and legislation. Blockchain Italia, a software firm based in Milan, has been brought on board as a development partner. It focuses on Fintech and Blockchain-related solutions.
The Algorand Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer, Jason Lee, chimed in with enthusiasm, saying that the foundation was delighted to assist APAS with digitising watersheds on the Algorand network.
The Algorand Foundation is always looking for ways to help companies that aim for global sustainability. Its objective is to promote an inclusive, borderless, and decentralised global economy. Furthermore, the Algorand Foundation encourages ventures that use Algorand’s blockchain technology.
